Mental and Behavioral Health Care
Behavioral Health plays a key role in people’s overall health and wellness. At Amerigroup Washington, Inc., we strive to support providers as they coordinate and provide services to meet the needs of our members.
How members access Behavioral Health services:
If an Amerigroup member is dealing with depression, anxiety or a mental health concern, our care managers will work with the member and their primary care provider to help get the care they need.
Members can also call Amerigroup at 1-800-600-4441 (TTY 711) for help getting behavioral health care. Or they can use the link on this page for our online provider search tool to find in-network behavioral health professionals.
How providers obtain assistance from Amerigroup
If you would like assistance coordinating care for a member, contact our Behavioral Health care managers
at 1-800-454-3730, option 3 and then state “Mental Health” instead of the other options offered.
For all other needs, including general questions about available benefits, Amerigroup policies or other general questions, you can find most of your answers on this site, or call our national Provider Services center at 1-800-454-3730. Provider Services can also provide member-specific information such as eligibility.
Children’s Mental Health Legislation
Legislation was passed strengthening language for children’s mental health care access in SSB 5779, Section 4.
The bill requires that children receive treatment and appropriate care based on their assessed needs, regardless of whether the referral occurred through primary care, school-based services or another practitioner.
Providers and members have access to the Washington Recovery Help Line at 1-866-789-1511 and https://www.warecoveryhelpline.org 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as a behavioral health resource.
